From the woman who once said she couldn’t ‘concentrate in flats’ Victoria Beckham’s style of recent has been much more relaxed, a sense of slouch as her fashion week uniform earlier this month comprised of wide-leg jeans and perfect tees (beaut!).
As she showcased her Spring 2018 collection at New York Fashion Week, VB vowed that 'delicacy c a n be strong’ with girly pleats and ruffles placed upon backdrops of masculine tailoring with Beckham’s signature oversizing. This collection ‘shows off the many powers of femininity’ with a nod back to the nineties where Posh’s girl power quite literally took over the world. The sugary pastel hues of mint, apricot and parma violets provoke a fun-loving positivity, Harper Seven’s girly influence on her mum’s seemingly minimalist and boxy style to date; whilst staples red and black accent the runway like pillars of the forever expanding Beckham empire.
Which looks stole the show? For us, we love the rich aqua organza pencil skirt modelled by Gisele Fox, teamed with an oversized button-up shirt, this look has us wishing for desk jobs in dreamy Manhattan.. The ivory skirt and shirt combo with geometric black silhouetting is flow-y and feminine and yet so simple and easy to wear.
The collection was paired with un-done makeup, just a fresh-face and beautifully curated hair styled by none other than Guido Palau, who we’ll be seeing at Creative Head early October - we’ll be preparing lots of questions to find out exactly how he’s managed to style almost every show this season. With natural colour and loose styling, hair was effortlessly kept out of each of the models’ faces, understated and easy, for when these power girls have work to do!
We got to see a little bit more of Victoria as Brooklyn managed to sneak behind the scenes for a collection of beautiful candid shots of his mum’s work through his own eyes as he begins his photography programme in New York, these captured moments may just be our favourite part of the show...
